LPH will be meeting next Wednesday, February 16. Each meeting will be every other Wednesday after that.
Elections for Treasurer
Congratulations to Kim Maika on becoming our new treasurer!
Treasures for Troops
We received the billing statement from Mailbox Etc. The final total for shipping fees came to $377.25. Jessie Noblin collected $226.00 from the congregation of First United Methodist Church. The rest of the money will be raised through a fundraiser. Also, “Thank You” cards were purchased for the two churches’ who helped support Treasures for Troops. Ka, as President, will write the thank you cards.
We decided to do the Community Day fundraiser. Boston Store has a community day February 26 - we sell coupons for $5 to shoppers who then use the coupon for $5 toward merchandise at Boston Store on that day. 100% of the profits go to LPH. All coupon stubs need to be turned in by February 24. The stubs can be dropped off in CART 265.
We also decided to hold another bake sale. The date chosen so far is March 8 from 10am-2pm. The bake sale will be themed St. Patrick’s Day. Make sure to bake everything green. The bake sale will be donation only. Ka will make a reservation for the space.
LPH and PAC will not be meeting on February 13 at Rink Side Sports. There were not enough people to meet the group rate. The 6 people who sent in RSVPs will coordinate and decide whether to go at the higher rate.
A possible social event for members is to see Kenosha’s Idol. The show will be held at Reuther High School on March 20 at 7pm. Tickets are $10, and are available from Jessie Noblin.
The LPH initiation is part of the Communication Department's student celebration each spring. The tentative date is April 17, 2-4 pm. Stephanie Glass will be the intern working on this with Kate Bieringer, in her role as Vice President.
So far the Alumni Event will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Pleasant Prairie. The tentative date is Friday, March 25.
