Meeting Minutes

The group decided to begin posting minutes on the web page. They will still continue to be circulated immediately via email, and then posted to the web as quickly as possible

09.24.02 MINUTES

Members present: Wendy Leeds-Hurwitz, Luke Andersen, Alison Carlberg, Sonja Finley, Megan
Gaca, Christina King, Tim Knight, Renee Luczkowski, Jennifer Ranker, Rebecca Williamson, and
Heather Rommel.

Wendy Leeds-Hurwitz called the meeting to order at 3:35.

First order of business- Electing all new officers and they are
President: Rebecca Williamson
Vice President: Jennifer Ranker
Treasurer: Alison Carlberg
Secretary: Heather Rommel

Announcements

Membership Fees:
New member's fee is $30.00 per year
Renewal fee is $15.00 per year
Gold cord fee (for graduation) is $8.00
*Make checks payable to University of Wisconsin Parkside. You can give your checks to
Wendy-Leeds-Hurwitz or Alison Carlberg our new treasurer.

New Business: Ideas on what we are going to do this semester.

Workshops:
Jennifer Ranker is going to run an e-portfolio workshop.
Wendy Leeds-Hurwitz and Alison Carlberg will run a resume workshop.
*Dates have not been set up yet.

Service:
We have people gathering information on ways to help two different charities. The charities are
children who are burn victims and people with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Field Trips:
We have decided that for our first trip we should go to Milwaukee and take a tour of Miller brewing company. We agreed that we would have it on a Friday afternoon setting the appointment for the tour at three but we have not set the date. Rebecca Williamson is contacting the marketing or PR department to see if we can talk with them on our tour. After the tour we thought that it would be nice to enjoy some Thai food. Wendy referred a restaurant called the Bangkok Orchid and we decide to have dinner there after the tour. *Now since it is Friday some of us are finishing the trip out by visiting Water Street to quench our thirst but this is not part of the field trip.

Future Meetings:
*We have decided to rotate meetings so more people could attend the meetings. We will be
rotating from this time slot (Tuesday at 3:30) to Tuesday at 5:00 and Wednesday at 12:00, and
generally meet every two weeks.

The next meeting in on Wednesday October 9th at 12:00
*We were unable to reserve our normal room (CA 233) so on the door there will be a note that will have the class room that we will be meeting in.

The following meeting is a Tuesday October 22nd at 5:00 and will be held in the normal room CA 233

Meeting ended at 4:30 p.m.
