It's not always easy to see great things, especially when they happen to be really close to home. Jonalyn chose UW-Parkside because, "it’s an amazing school that is basically in my front yard," she says. "I'm from Kenosha and my house is about two minutes away. It has a gorgeous campus, and with its smaller size, students and professors are able to have personal relationships."
Being involved with campus organizations has helped Jonalyn make the adjustment to university life. "I am president of Sisters In Action, a women's empowerment club, and a mentor for Student Support Services," she says. "I'm also a tour guide for the Admissions Office."
And if the rigors of the classroom start to get the best of her, "I enjoy the beautiful environment that surrounds the campus," she says, "It helps me calm down and relax after a stressful day."
Jonalyn also has her eyes on the future: "UW-Parkside is known for its fabulous entry rate into professional schools in the field of medicine."
To students considering UW-Parkside, Jonalyn says they should look at all the school has to offer. "UW-Parkside is a fabulous school with great academic programs and awesome groups," she says. "It's a beautiful campus with a diverse group of students and faculty."
