Why did you join Gamma Alpha Omega? I join Gamma Alpha Omega because they were a community base sorority and I wanted to get more involved in the community as well as on campus. I also wanted to gain leadership skills and network with all type of different people and build stong relationships with others. Another reason why I wanted to join Gamma Alpha Omega was because I wanted to have that support and that special bond that they have with all their sisters. Before my process I knew some of the ladies and I attended their events just so that I can get an insight in what they do and what they were about and than I finally came to the conclusion that GAO was for me because they made me feel comfortable around them and I wanted to be part of all the positive things that they do. What has Gamma Alpha Omega done for you? Gamma Alpha Omega has gave me the confidence to be myself no matter what and to voice my opiions. GAO has gave me the leadership skills that are needed to being able to stand on my own two feet and also being able to ask for help when I needed it. I have learned that not all people are what they seem and that it is never right to make quick judgements about a person. GAO has also taught me to push myself and go that extra mile in whatever task that I am trying to accomplish. Interests & Hobbies: Some of my interests are hanging out with my friends, watch movies.....horror ones are my fav., listen to music, talking on the phone, shopping, and meeting new people. My hobbies are collecting monkeys, drawing, and playing sports when I get the chance. My goals are to finish college with a degree in Nursing because that it was I always wanted to be, being there for my friends and family, and to do my best in everything. Fondest GAO Memory? My fondest GAO memory would have to be the time that we had our potluck at Candace's house just for the fact that the ladies made me realize a lot. I still remember my big sister Olga telling us how important it was to have that bond between sisters. After the potluck I got the thinking on how I wanted this, what I needed to improve on in order to make my process a little smoother, and to show my P.A. educators and sisters that I wanted to be part of their family. Quote: My personal quote would have to be "You make the letters, the letters don't make you" from Stomp the Yard because I believe that everyone who joins a Greek organization is the exact same person that they were before they joined with some minor changes in order to make you a better person than before. email address if anyone wants to contact you? chelona1_gao@hotmail.com
