V. Report Prepared by President Tyson Fettes

            There was a bad turn-out for this past Monday’s Speaker. More people need to show up to these events. Everyone should try to get people to come to the Jean Hundertmark event. On October 30, PSGA and Student Activities is sponsoring a Soup & Substance Forum on the Death Penalty.

VI. Report by Vice President Tony DuBose

            Everyone should come to the Women’s Leadership Conference from October 17-19. Registration for the conference is online and ends next week Friday. The newsletter will be out next week. The sign up sheet for office hours is right next to the scanner.

VII. Director Reports

A.     Chief of Staff – Adam Schemm

-         Student Ambassador Program will promote Parkside to the high schools.

-         Once your Faculty or Administration committee meeting is over, fill out the report sheet and turn it in to the binder in the office.

B.     Academic and Student Affairs Director – Rebecca McBurney

-         Going to a meeting to put on a program to feature each major.

-         Find a way to bring a program to Parkside to facilitate the exchanging of textbooks.

C.     SUFAC Director – Louie Kirleis

-         The binders have been passed out, please look over before the first meeting.

-         Next week there will be a meeting as well as a Health Department tour.

D.     Legislative Affairs Director – Zara Dittman

-         There will be tabling on the bridge the week before elections.

-         A program will be held to explain first time voters how to vote as well as show existing voters how to vote out of their district on Monday at 3:30p in the PSGA office.

E.      Diversity Issues Director – Shannon Holbert

-         Wednesday was National Take Affirmative Action Day, where flyers were handed out.

-         There will be a box display in Main Place for candidate information.

-         Cesar Chavez House for youths, contact her for information on how to volunteer.

F.      Women’s Issues Director – Emily Junion

-         Meetings are Wednesdays at 4pm.

-         Anyone who wants to participate in PPWI Phone Bank on Wednesday next week can contact her.

G.     Public Relations Director – Joshua Santiago

-         Not Present.

H.     Constitution Director – Michael Scerpella

-         A new constitution has been typed out and will be revised and sent out to all Senators shortly.

I.        Advisor – Dr. Stephen McLaughlin

-         Not Present.

A.     Resolution in Support of Equal Opportunities of Minority Organizations

Motion to table the resolution entered by Vaughn, 2nd by Surber. Ayes, Nays, and Abstentions. No objections or abstentions. Vote unanimous. To the decision of the Chair, motion carries.

Motion to amend the resolution to strike out any paragraph or phrase that refers to the Chapter and/or Policy  entered by Schultz, 2nd by Jackson. Ayes, Nays, and Abstentions. Ayes – 24 Nays – 1 Abstentions – 3. To the decision of the Chair, motion carries. Paragraphs and Phrases so Stricken.
