George Perdikaris, Ph.D.

Education:

Area of Expertise: Dr. Perdikaris's research interests include the application of computers to model, simulate and design industrial automation systems. In particular, his current research focuses on the development and real-time implementation of algorithms used to control machines and processes intelligently. He teaches courses in Computer Engineering and Computer Science.

Professional Activities: Dr. Perdikaris's latest publications include articles on the computer control of motor drive systems; he is also the author of the book Computer Controlled Systems: Theory and Applications, Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1991, 1996. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and its societies: Computers, Industry Applications, Education, and Control Systems; in addition, he is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and the Computers in Education society of ASEE. Dr. Perdikaris has been involved in consulting with industries in the computer automation field. He has been honored with the UW-System Wisconsin Distinguished Professor Award (1989-1994), and with the IEEE Milwaukee Section Memorial Award (1994).
