Education:

Area of Expertise: Professor Quevedo teaches Programming Languages, Compiler Design, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Models and Database courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Computer Science Department at UW-Parkside. His research concentrates on web information systems, data mining, information retrieval, database systems, automated learning systems, and computer science education. His dissertation was on Improving Web Retrieval by Mining the HTML Tags for Keywords and Exploring the Hyperlink Structures of Web Pages.

Additionally, Professor Quevedo has extensive experience in the implementation of Bilingual and Special education programs for the K-12 system. His teaching certifications in K-12 are from the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Texas in areas such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Bilingual Education, Special Education and Educational Administration.

Professional Activities: Professor Quevedo is member of the IEEE and ACM professional associations for the advancement of technology. He has recently founded the Data Management and Visualization research lab in the Computer Science Department at UW-Parkside. In addition to his assignment with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Quevedo is an adjunct professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in México.
