I went to a small liberal arts school where I really enjoyed computer courses, research, and teaching. The University of Wisconsin Parkside allows me to do all three of these things I enjoy, so it’s a nice balance. My typical day is broken up into mainly three categories: teaching, research, and service. The teaching aspect is based around prepping class, grading, and exams. I do research in high performance computing, modeling, and mobile computing. I am working to bring mobile devices into more classes, and I’m also working on getting a grant for summer student research. I feel that through one on one interaction I can connect best with my students because I can address their particular concerns. Through the next five years I want to continue to improve my classes and research.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing the tuba and string bass. I also just joined a curling club too. I enjoy traveling and I really want to visit New Zealand. Also, at heart I’m a Packers fan, but I root for the Steelers because my wife’s a Steelers fan.
