Dr. Peter Knight and Dr. Michael T. Manion of the College of Business, Economics and Computing, are the recipients of the Marketing Management Association 2013 MBAA International McGraw-Hill/Irwin Distinguished Paper Award. Their paper, titled "The Role of Self-Efficacy in Sales Education," was recognized as the best submission among 70 entries. It was written with Dr. Claudia Mich of Purdue University Calumet.
The paper is a major national study on the impact of sales education curricula and pedagogy on development of career-related skills and competencies. More than 500 students at 18 colleges completed the 85 item survey which informed research analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling techniques.
"I am writing to congratulate you on winning the Irwin/McGraw-Hill distinguished paper award for marketing through the MBAA/MMA Spring 2013 Conference," said MMA President-elect Carrie Trimble. "Your paper?not only won Best in Track but was chosen as the best paper for the program."
Knight, Manion, and Mich will be recognized at the Midwest Business Administration Association's (MBAA) 49th annual International Conference at the Drake Hotel in Chicago, Feb. 27-March 1. The MBAA has more than 700 active members and represents a variety of disciplines from accounting and finance to marketing and entrepreneurship. The Marketing Management Association (MMA) is typically the largest division represented at the conference.
