Our Students: Nicole Becker

Nicole Becker, a UW-Parkside Computer Science major, recently received the Geophysical Science Community Service Award from the regional U.S. Geographic Society. Becker was honored for her work on the Eagle Spring Lake (Waukesha Co.) weather web site, which she started as her web practicum course project, but has continued for a significant time since then.

Associate Professor of Computer Science Stu Hansen said the web site Becker created will continue to be improved.

"Our spring software engineering course will continue development of the project, taking it mobile," Hansen said, adding "Kudos to Nicole for a job well done."

The project was sponsored by Peter Johnson, whom Hansen describes as "a longtime supporter of UW-Parkside."
