The Economics Major - General completion plans assume that the student begins coursework in the fall semester and satisfies the computational skills requirement, which is a prerequisite for ECON 120 and 121.

The bachelor's degree at UW-Parkside is comprised of 120 credit hours which include the following:

  1. Reading/Writing, and Computational Skills (7 credits)
  2. UW-P Distribution Requirements - General Education 36 credits to include 12 credits each from Humanities and Fine Arts (HU), Social and Behavioral Science (SB) and Natural Science (NS)
  3. Foreign Language* and Diversity Requirements (DV) (3-11 credits)

    *Foreign Language: It is assumed the student completed two years of the same foreign language in high school with a C or better average in the second year. Two semesters of the same foreign language at UW-P will be required if student did not complete requirement in high school.

  4. 36 credits are required at the 300 level or higher
  5. The English, math, foreign language competencies must be completed by 60 credits
  6. The information literacy requirement must be completed by 30 credits
  7. Any developmental courses (e.g., ACSK) or courses that are repeated more than once, do not count towards the 120 credit hours required for graduation and,
  8. All specific program major requirements as included in the above four year plan.
