Mission and Goals
The mission of the Advising Center is to promote
learning and intellectual development in students by facilitating their
ability to interact with and benefit from the academic curriculum. This
ability will lead to meaningful educational, career, and life plans
that are compatible with their interests and abilities. This mission
will be accomplished through the following goals:
- Provide timely, accurate and specific advising services and information to the university community on programs, policies, requirements and institutional resources.
- Foster a cooperative and constructive relationship among faculty, advisors, and students to promote the connection between learning and advising.
- Identify conditions that affect student progress and develop interventions that meet the individual needs of the student.
- Gather, analyze, and disseminate relevant data about students for use in assessing student progress and evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
