About CDF Training

The Career Development Facilitator Training is a 120-hour program designed for individuals who assist others with career development. 

NCDA's Requirements:

• Completion of at least 80 hours of classroom training provided by a certified CDF/GCDF instructor, and
• Completion of at least 40 hours of field work (in field, practical training), and
• Have a combination of education and work experience as specified in the credential guidelines:
• graduate degree plus an estimated one year of career development work experience
• bachelor degree plus an estimated two years of career development work experience
• two years of college plus an estimated three years of career development work experience
• a high school diploma/GED plus an estimated four years of career development work experience

Are there costs?

If you wish to complete the CDF training, you will be eligible to apply for and receive national certification as a Career Development Facilitator (CDF) through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), a subsidiary of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). If you wish to obtain national certification as a CDF, there is a $100 application fee that you send directly to CCE along with your completed 2009 Application Packet. CCE also charges a $25 annual maintenance fee.
