Course catalog | Department website
Geography is the study of spatial patterns. Geography examines location, space, area, extent, distribution, and distance. Geographers use data, maps, statistics, equipment, instruments, and computer software. Human Geography is concerned with social, economic, urban, and political questions, examining such problems as: urban blight, agricultural land use, location of industry, or population movements. Physical Geography examines climate, plants and animals, soils, and landforms. A degree in geography from UW-Parkside prepares students for careers in planning, site selection, environmental analysis, international business, soil conservation, marketing, GIS analysis, and many other fields.
