"As a printmaker I have a great curiosity concerning paper work; the effect of pressure of the press pass and the ability to gain layers of color through repeated passes through the press. My interest in painting and drawing lead me to address the possibility of the monoprint, the color and the marks. My interest in technology and process has incorporated photo and computer process into my work as well. Formally, I am excited about complex space, real space, and even pastoral pictorial space. These issues permeate my print work no matter what process. The technical print process becomes an important part of what I teach; so I demonstrate process a lot. Without a confident technical ability, intelligence, and insatiable curiosity, students don't become the artists that they might be. In the Art Department at UW-Parkside, we work to help those students become the artist that they should be."
