Internships in Arts Management
Internships with local arts organizations are required for all students who minor in Arts Management and most students in the certificate program. An internship allows students to gain practical experience and develop contacts with people working in the field. Students will work between 3 and 12 hours per week with a campus or community group. They will be supervised by a staff member from the organization. They will also meet regularly with the Arts Management Coordinator to ensure a positive working experience and that internship work is relevant to course work.
Students will work with the Arts Management Coordinator to set up an internship with an organization in their area of interest. Past students have worked with The Racine Art Museum, The UW-Parkside Arts Alive! Series, the Kenosha Public Museum and the Racine Arts Council, among others. Summer internships may be arranged in Milwaukee, Chicago or other cities in the country.
