A Message from the Dean
Greetings!
Welcome to the website for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside! The College of Arts and Sciences is the academic heart of the University, for it is home to the disciplines that form the core of liberal learning. Faculty are the College's greatest resource. They are highly qualified and are deeply committed to excellence in teaching and advising, research, and public service. But the single most important aim of the Faculty of the College is to provide you with a solid academic foundation upon which to pursue lifelong learning and to build a successful life and career.
The College consists of twenty-one departments representing the fine arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics and sciences, teacher education, health/physical education/athletics, and nursing (a consortial program administered by UW-Milwaukee), along with six interdisciplinary programs (ethnic studies, humanities, women's studies, honors program, interdisciplinary studies, and international studies). The College is also responsible for a campus art gallery and a performing arts theater.
Faculty in the College complement classroom instruction with several co-curricular activities that are designed to deepen and broaden your academic experience and to ensure that you have a solid platform for success in your major and in your life after graduation. These co-curricular activities include undergraduate research opportunities, internships, art exhibitions, theatrical productions, musical performances, student academic clubs and honor societies, and service learning in the community.
