The Pre-Veterinary program at UW-Parkside has been designed to outline specific courses that students interested in Veterinary School need to take in order to gain acceptance into Veterinary programs throughout the United States.
Students wishing to attend Veterinary school can obtain ANY undergraduate major, however, the vast majority of students applying to and accepted into professional veterinary programs major in some field of Biology or Chemistry.
Minimum course requirements to be considered for acceptance into Veterinary school are:
At least:
1 year of Biology (introductory level) with accompanying laboratories
2 years of Chemistry with accompanying laboratories
- 1 year Introductory Chemistry
- 1 year of Organic Chemistry
1 year of Physics (introductory level) with accompanying laboratories
1 semester of Calculus*
1 year of English Literature
Veterinary College Admittance Test (VCAT) or Graduate Record Exam (GRE), varies depending on Veterinary school requirements.
