UW-Parkside retains AACSB International Business Accreditation

KENOSHA, Wis.--The University of Wisconsin-Parkside School of Business and Technology has retained its accreditation by a global certification board. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International Board of Directors reaffirmed UW-Parkside's continued adherence to the highest academic achievement standards, standards used by business schools worldwide.

"We are pleased to learn of our success in maintaining AACSB International accreditation for our undergraduate and graduate business programs," said UW-Parkside School of Business and Technology Dean Fred Ebeid. "It is recognition that our students are receiving a high quality management education, which will help prepare them to effectively compete in the global marketplace. Maintenance of accreditation, which must be completed every five years, also speaks highly of the faculty and staff in the School of Business and Technology and the excellent work they do in teaching, research, and service."

Ebeid said approximately 34 percent of U.S. business schools, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard, and Stanford, and seven percent worldwide hold this prestigious distinction.

AACSB International accredited institutions confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. To achieve and retain accreditation, business programs must satisfy a wide range of quality standards relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process, and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. During the accreditation process, UW-Parkside was visited and evaluated by business school deans with detailed knowledge of management education, applying widely accepted accreditation standards.

Located in the Town of Somers in Kenosha County, UW-Parkside currently serves approximately 600 undergraduate and 85 graduate business students. Undergraduates can major in Business Management, Management Information Systems, and Computer Science. Graduate students can pursue either the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems (MSCIS) degree. Day and evening courses provide scheduling flexibility, and small class sizes along with a highly qualified faculty contribute to enhanced student learning.
