Career Connection connects students, employers
Students make Career Connection
Dozens of the region's most desirable employers and hundreds of students gathered at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Thursday, April 5. The two groups came together for Career Connection.
Sponsored by the UW-Parkside School of Business and Technology, Career Connection allowed companies to talk directly to potential future employees and allowed students to explore a variety of career options in a single location. The companies involved included Abbott, Abercrombie and Fitch/ Hollister, Aeropostale, Bombardier Recreational Products, Case New Holland, CDW, CNH Capital, Direct Supply Inc., Disney Worldwide Services, Inc.; Double D's, Educators Credit Union, Fastenal Co., Financial Service Group, Inc.; Hewitt Associates, Hospira, Inc.; Johnson Financial Group, JohnsonDiversey, Kenosha News, Microsoft Corp., Modine Manufacturing Company, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Platinum Systems, Inc.; Quad/Graphics, Racine County Workforce Development Center, Runzheimer International, SC Johnson, Snap-on, Inc.; Sports Media, Inc.; Target Stores, Teleflex Medical, The Journal Times, The Mark Travel Corporation, Trisept Solutions, Twin Disc, Inc.; Uline, US Army, and Walgreen Company.
Career Connection was spearheaded by Business Lecturer Tom Witt, UW-Parkside Career Center Director Joann Goodyear, student project leader Sabha Museteif and students Gadeer Museteif, Erin Anderle, Zak Smith, and Terrell Malone.
"Many of our faculty provided 'incentives' to their students who attended" Career Connection, Witt said. "I want to thank everyone who helped make this such a successful event."
