Baldwin named SBT associate dean
University of Wisconsin-Parkside Dean of the School of Business and Technology Fred Ebeid recently made the following announcement:
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dirk Baldwin to the position of Associate Dean in the School of Business & Technology (SBT) at UW-Parkside, effective January 1, 2008.
Dr. Baldwin is presently an associate professor in the Department of Business in the SBT and faculty director of Community-Based Learning in the Center for Community Partnerships (CCP). In these dual roles, he has done an outstanding job teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in the business statistics, management information systems, and project management areas, and also in directing community-based learning initiatives with CCP.
Dirk earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from TexasTechUniversity in 1989. Previously, he taught two years as a visiting assistant professor at Texas Tech (1994-96) and six years as an assistant professor in the department of accounting at VirginiaTechUniversity (1988-94). Dr. Baldwin joined UW-Parkside in August 1996 and while here served six years as chair of the Department of Business (2002-2007). In order to provide for an orderly transition from one of his current responsibilities, Dirk will continue to serve in a limited capacity as faculty director of CCP until a suitable replacement can be found.
The Search and Screening committee, composed of Robert Fok, Stephen Hawk, and Susan Lincke (chair), did an excellent job throughout the process and is to be commended for their fine work. With the help and support of the faculty, I am confident that Dr. Baldwin will help lead the School of Business & Technology to a high level of academic excellence.
Please join me in extending congratulations to Dirk on his appointment.
