UW System Classroom Technology Level Definitions

Level 1 Basic classroom containing chalkboard or markerboard; projection screen; overhead projector; lighting fixtures switched in groups; darkening shades, voice and data connections; podium, cart or lecturn.

Level 2 Classroom with all the features of category 1. A/V equipment including two or more of the following: slide projector, video cassette player, video monitor, laser disc player, DVD player, video/data projector, sound system or audio player.

Level 3 Classroom with all the features of category 2 plus a teaching station equipped with controls for all A/V equipment, room lighting, and room sound system.

Level 4 Classroom with features of category 2 or 3 plus a two-way video system to support distance education.
