- How do I use the lists?
- We have posted an online tutorial. You can view or download the presentation.
- Are there any limits on what messages I can send to these lists?
- Message size, including attachments, should be limited to 500KB in size.
- (It may be necessary to send links to the attachments on the web, rather than include them in the message.)
- How do I request a new list?
- Complete the Email Distribution List Request Form on the CTS web page.
- What types of lists does this process support?
- — Advisees of a given advisor. (DL_ADV-)
- — Employees by department or Duty Code (DL_STF-)
- — Students listed in PeopleSoft student groups. (DL_GRP-)
- — Students by declared major or concentration. (DL_MAJ-)
- How long does it take for a new list to be created?
- It takes at least two business days after the request is submitted for the list to be available.
- The form is entered when received and queued for initial processing overnight.
- The results of the initial processing are sent to the list owner for verification.
- If the list is verified, the list is marked for production, and will be generated on the mailing list server overnight.
- A test message is sent to the list, and the owner and requestor are notified that the list is now available.
- Who is authorized to use the lists?
- Faculty and staff members of UW-Parkside, using their uwp.edu email address.
- What types of messages should use these lists?
- These lists were created for official communication between the University and these individuals.
- Can I see the list of members?
- The list owner sees the current snapshot as the list is created to validate the members.
- After the list is approved, the lists of addresses are passed from SOLAR to the list management software, without user intervention.
- Can I remove myself from these lists?
- Because these lists are for official University communication, members are not able to remove themselves.
- If you feel that you are member of a list that does not accurately represent your status at UW-Parkside, please contact us.
- How can I confirm my message was sent?
- When sending a message from Outlook, select either "Request A Delivery Receipt" or "Request A Read Receipt".
