The Quiz Tool

The Quizzes tool enables you to create and manage points-measured assessments. As part of your quantifiable assessment procedures, you can use quizzes to help evaluate users' learning progress and learning outcomes. Create and manage quiz questions from the Question Library or the Quizzes tool, and organize quizzes into categories to make it easier to find assessments with similar or related content. Use the quiz preview option to test the accuracy of content and grading before you release a quiz. In a preview, you can answer the questions, view allowed hints, submit the quiz, auto-grade answers, read feedback, and view report results.

Creating a Quiz

• On the Manage Quizzes page, click New Quiz.


• Enter a Name.


• Select a Category from the drop-down list to group your quiz with an existing category. If you haven't set up categories for your quiz, click add category to create and name a new category.


• Click Save and Close.

Creating quiz categories

You can organize quizzes into categories to make it easier to find assessments with similar or related content. Create, edit, reorder, and delete multiple categories at the same time.

Create a category

• On the Manage Quizzes page, click Edit Categories.


• Click Add Category.


• Enter a name into the Name field. ("New Category" is the default name)


• Click Save.

Edit a category

• On the Manage Quizzes page, click Edit Categories.


• You can make changes to category names by editing the Name field.


• Click Save.

Reorder categories

• On the Manage Quizzes page, click Edit Categories.


• Starting with "1", enter the order you want to display the categories in the Sort Order field.
  You can click Sort Order to sort categories in ascending or descending order.


• Click Save.
  Quizzes under "Without Category" will always be at the top of the list.

Delete a category

• On the Manage Quizzes page, click Edit Categories.


• Select the check box beside each category you want to delete.


• Click the Delete categories icon.
