Strategic Direction B
Fall 2010 goals:

1. Implement iStrategies as a software tool to support data-driven decision making related to student enrollment and retention

Terry Brown, Catherine Jameson, Steve McLaughlin, Bill Streeter, Kim Kelly, Fred Ebeid, Dean Yohnk, Esther Wilson and Susan Hawkins-Wilding will participate in the iStrategies pilot project

2. Implement EMAS Pro (a customer relationship management tool) to improve information available to recruiters, expand communication capabilities with prospective students, and provide data to begin development of a predictive model related to enrollment

Recruitment Pro launched in September for use by Admissions staff

3. Complete the implementation of Image Now by the Admissions and Registrar’s offices to improve workflow, increase access to student information, and reduce costs

Image Now is fully operational and the application process for freshmen will be paperless; Advising Center staff, Athletics and select academic departments have been provided with view-access of application material to support the academic advising process

4. Complete the implementation of the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) by College Source

Gary Wood, Laura Gellott and Dirk Baldwin are working with Jolanda Dinkins to test the workflow function of TES as it relates to the efficiency of course equivalency for transfer students

5. Implement integrated marketing plan

“Stand Out” recruitment materials in use; New Admissions website launched; Billboard campaign under way in the Racine and Kenosha; Web ad campaign under way on WISN.com, Time Warner Road Runner, Comcast, Facebook; Radio campaign on La Gran D under way; Print ads in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, SHE Magazine, Milwaukee Magazine, Catholic Herald; Insider News, Racine Mirror, Biz Times; Communication plans for new freshman recruitment developed and will be implemented as the launch of EMAS Pro functions continue; UW-Parkside participated in the first virtual open house through College Week Live in September

6. Increase recruitment efforts by academic departments

The Theatre Arts, Business and Biological Sciences departments have received funding from the Department Recruitment and Retention project. In October, the Theatre Arts Department participated in the Wisconsin Theater Festival; In November, Daphne Pham and her department will host 120 high school students for DNA days; Mike Manion and Trudy Biehn will host 120 marketing students from Kenosha Tremper High School; A recruitment handbook was distributed to academic departments; UW-Parkside Experience days – in progress – redesigned to allow  perspective students to engage with academic departments

7. Increase PK-12 outreach efforts to improve college readiness and enhance access

All current PK-12 outreach efforts have been documented including counselor collaborative held in September; Investigating best practices related to precollege programs and mapping current offerings to identify overlaps in service
