Adrienne Viramontes holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Public Relations, and a Master's degree in Qualitative Methods and Performance Studies from Purdue University Calumet. She earned her Ph.D. In Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Viramontes specializes in the study of lived experience, in particular, identity at the intersection of race, ethnicity, class, gender, and geographic locale. She writes within the areas of Philosophy of Communication and Latina/o Studies and is deeply interested in Midwestern Mexican-American identity and experience.
