What are the costs?
There is a sliding scale based on your organizational resources and your goal alignment with UW-Parkside’s strategic priorities and hallmarks regarding academic excellence, student success, community engagement, and diversity and inclusiveness.
What are the concrete examples of what these services can include?
* Building Social & Economic Capital: A collaboration
between 16 public, nonprofit, and private sector partners were
brought together to develop and implement the Racine County
Workforce Development Center’s “E3” Youth Employment
& Training Program. The program trained over 200 young
people who worked at 37 worksites throughout the county;
federal stimulus dollars were leveraged to attract over $100,000
in local funds and over $50,000 of in-kind contributions.
* Community Development: Support is being provided for the
Kenosha Union Park Project (KUPP) to facilitate a neighborhood
development effort spearheaded by the Lemon Street Gallery.
Students from classes in arts management, community based
learning, sociology research methods, and Geography GIS mapping
are all addressing various needs in the project.
* Meeting Facilitation: The Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD)
has utilized the university services to plan, facilitate, and provide
written summaries of community sessions to address the district’s
truancy challenge. KUSD also used facilitation services to plan and
facilitate district wide financial services meetings.
* Strategic Planning: Groups ranging from Peace Learning Circles
to the Racine County Youth Coalition to the University of Purdue -
Calumet have utilized UW-Parkside’s facilitation services to lead
strategic planning processes, create successful collaborative grant
proposals and determine resource allocations.
