Conflict Resolution Workshop

Number of Credits: Positive Classroom Behavior and Conflict Resolution Workshops can be combined with two workshops in the spring for 1 credit.

SMARTboard Lessons: Creating Your Own

Course Description:
This course will allow educators time to create curriculum specific lessons. Participants will work in teams to create and share activities. This course will teach participants how to share and transfer the Notebook files. All experience levels are encouraged to attend.
Supervision of Student Teachers

Course Description:
The Supervision of Student Teachers course will provide cooperating teachers and administrators with the knowledge and skills needed for effective supervision of student teachers and interns. This Online course examines the role of the classroom teacher in mentoring, guiding, and assessing student teachers, including policies and procedures. Course will also focus on developing an understanding of UW-Parkside’s Teacher Education framework.
This course meets Wisconsin's DPI requirements. Tuition fees will be waived for those who successfully complete the course. According to PI 34.15 (6), those taking the course must hold a Wisconsin license and have three years of teaching experience.

Best Practices in Primary Reading Classrooms
Dates: Thursdays in January (1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28)
Time: 4:00 – 7:30
Number of Credits : 1 or 2 credits through UW-Parkside
Credit Requirements: 1 credit will require participation and attendance at all four classes. 2 credits will require teachers to set up a model classroom based on the criteria presented in class.
Location: Janes Elementary School, 1425 N Wisconsin Ave Racine
Class will be held in the model K-3 classrooms at Janes Elementary School

This professional development workshop is targeted at middle and high school teachers who are interested in deepening their students understanding U.S. history through the application of basic economic principles. Workshop presentations will be based entirely on Focus: Understanding Economics in United States History, a curriculum of 39 complete history lessons published by the Council on Economic Education.
