Dr. Laurie Taylor will present an overview of different internet sites, electronic databases, and other resources that can be used for indentifying and researching federal, state, local, and private funding sources online.   Participants will attend a demonstration of several internet resources available to grant seekers, and have an opportunity to apply what they have learned by exploring the various resources. The cost for participants is $35. Scholarships are available for CAN participants.

Day Camp for Executive Directors

Milwaukee, WI

CAN Executive Directors…Haven’t you always wanted to win a scholarship to “Day Camp”? Well, it’s not too late!

Are you looking for new ways to add more value to your organization? Join us for an adventurous day camp experience at Bucketworks (the World's First Health Club for the Brain) in Milwaukee. There, executive director, James Carlson, will lead you through fun activities where you will learn unique social networking and marketing skills that are sure to benefit you and your organizations.

The "camp bus" leaves the parking lot of Tallent Hall at UW-Parkside at 8:30 am, returning at 4:00 pm. The cost for Executive Directors (or their designee) is $50. The cost includes "camp activities," lunch and bus fare. Scholarships are available for CAN participants.

Kenosha County Job Center

Basic Computing. One-session beginning class for persons with little or no computer use experience. Offered Tuesdays from 10-11:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. To register, please contact the Job Center's Career Connections . Phone: 262-697-4568.

Open Computer Lab. The Kenosha County Job Center has a computer lab that is open to the public for self-directed computer skills training (lab assistant on duty). The computer lab is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. For information or to register for lab use, please contact the Job Center's Employment Central help desk. Phone: 262-697-4705.

1st Steps to Starting Your Own Business.  The Small Business Development Center periodically conducts a basic overview class for entrepreneurs planning to start a new business. Nonprofit agencies considering "social entrepreneurship" ventures might benefit from this free course.
