Helen Rosenberg received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Northwestern University in 1989. Her areas of expertise include the general areas of deviant behavior and gerontology, with special interest in the sociology of mental illness and substance use and abuse among older adults. Throughout her tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, she has valued experiential learning and has strived to engage students in research as part of their class work. She developed the internship course in sociology and in 2000, the Gerontology Certificate Program for the University. Most recently, she has been appointed faculty co-director of the Center for Community Partnerships.
