Presentation Formats

Poster Presentation: Posters, which are approximately 48"x36", are created by University Graphics (please contact Don Lintner at 595-2286 for assistance, posters must be submitted to his office by April 7th). Students must be available and present in the Student Center to discuss their posters between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. In some cases students may use technology (i.e., PowerPoint presentations, video, etc.) as part of a poster presentation - please make sure to communicate any audio-visual needs when submitting your abstact. Oral Presentation: Presentations are scheduled for a maximum of 12 minutes, and will be followed by a brief (2-3 minute) question-and-answer period. Sessions will be moderated and the time limit strictly enforced. All PowerPoint presentations must be on a computer CD or a USB "jumpdrive". All computers will be equipped with CD drives but we will not guarantee availability of disk drives or zip drives. All rooms will be equipped with a laptop computer (with CD drive and USB jumpdrive), projector and screen. If you need an overhead projector or a flip chart, please indicate this on the Abstract Registration Form.

 

Artistic Performance: Performances include literary readings, theatre, music or dance. The works must be original, or interpretation/research based on an existing work. Performances may be solo or ensemble. A maximum of 30 minutes is allotted for each performance, including a question-and-answer period.

 

 

Art Exhibition: All forms of visual art, including original painting, sculpture, photography, prints, textile arts, drawings, pottery, metal, etc., will be considered for acceptance as gallery exhibits. In your abstract, please identify the amount of space you need. We will also need to know how much time is required to set up the exhibit. Presenters will be expected to be available to discuss their exhibit at the assigned times.
