Why a Solar Challenge?
The Chancellor's Task Force on Environmental Stewardship, the Parkside Environmental Club, and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Foundation have teamed up to coordinate a response to this challenge. Here are just a few reasons why this initiative is so important:

- The use of renewable energy generated through photovoltaic cells will reduce the campus' carbon footprint.
- The existence of photovoltaic cells on campus provides tremendous learning opportunities for students from a wide range of disciplines. Students will have an opportunity to see how solar panels work, calculate cost savings, and analyze various technological and aesthetic elements of the project for years to come.
- The Solar Challenge provides an opportunity for the campus community to come together to demonstrate its commitment to being a genuine steward of environmental resources and join the growing number of governmental, corporate, and nonprofit agencies that recognize the importance of institutional citizenship.
Please help make this a reality by giving today!
