The Environmental Studies major is designed for students who have a strong interest in environmental issues. The program provides a learning environment that prepares students to undertand and respond to local, regional, and global envirnomental challenges. It develops an appreciation for the scope of environmental problems and the consequences of various solutions. All graduates share a core curriculum covering natural and social sciences, statistics, and environmental chemistry that gives students core competencies in key areas demanded by all employers and professional programs. The Environmental Studies major prepares students for a great variety of careers, such as wildlife conservation, science teaching, environmental monitoring, environmental law, government policy, and writing or broadcasting on environmental issues.
