Welcome!
The Office of Equity and Diversity (OED) provides leadership in the University of Wisconsin-Parkside's commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and affirmative action. The office advises the Chancellor and senior administration on institutional issues of equity and civil rights, including the development, and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and effective practices. In addition, the OED serves as a resource for students, faculty, staff and the Southeastern Wisconsin area on affirmative action, equal employment opportunity as well as broader issues of diversity.
The OED monitors institutional compliance with UW System, state and federal policies, procedures, statutes and laws in related areas, including affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Related to this, the office receives, reviews and fully investigates complaints of discrimination and harassment. The OED also prepares the UW-Parkside Affirmative Action Plan and monitors employment systems, including search and screen policies and procedures. The office is integrally involved in reviewing our progress in UW System initiatives in the Equity Scorecard and Inclusive Excellence (formerly Plan 2008). The OED also develops and conducts professional development sessions on various issues related to equity and diversity.
