The Office of Equity and Diversity (OED) supports the university's commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and affirmative action by providing leadership in developing, and implementing relevant policies and procedures. The OED monitors institutional compliance with state and federal affirmative action laws, and equal employment opportunity policies and procedures. The office advises the Chancellor and senior administration on institutional civil rights and social equity policies, issues, and concerns.
The OED prepares the UW-Parkside Affirmative Action Plan and monitors
employment systems, including search policies and procedures, and Plan
2008. The OED develops and conducts sensitivity sessions on various
issues related to equity and diversity. This office receives, reviews and
fully investigates complaints of discrimination, discriminatory
harassment, and sexual harassment.
In addition, the OED serves as a resource for students, faculty, staff and
the Southeastern Wisconsin area on affirmative action, diversity issues,
and equal employment opportunity.
