Completing the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for a Stafford Loan
In order to complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for a Stafford Loan at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, you must be able to answer “yes” to the following statements:
- You have been admitted to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
- You have applied for federal financial aid through the FAFSA form and UW-Parkside has received the results.
- Your financial aid application has been reviewed by the UW-Parkside Financial Aid Office and you have received notification of a financial aid award.
- You have been awarded and accepted a Stafford Loan.
- You are a First-time Stafford Loan Borrower at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
- You have reviewed the UW-Parkside Loan Lender List.
- You have available the following information:
- Your FAFSA Pin Number to electronically sign your MPN
- The addresses and phone numbers of two references at two different addresses
- Choose a lender…You can choose any lender you want, even if not on our list. However, our experience has shown that choosing a lender from the UW-Parkside Lender Partner List will expedite the processing of your loan in most cases.
You may complete the MPN, print it, sign it and send the application to Great Lakes OR you may decide to have Great Lakes mail your pre-printed MPN for you to complete, sign and return to Great Lakes.
