Tax Transcripts

• Requesting tax transcripts is FREE!
• Only the tax filer can request tax transcripts, meaning the student, spouse, and parent must call individually to request transcripts
• The student may have a different last name than the parent or spouse. Please have tax transcripts sent directly to the student to avoid confusion
• There are three options to request tax transcripts:
• Call 1-800-908-9946
• Hours: 7:00 am to 10:00 pm
• Follow prompts regarding personal information. Enter the information EXACTLY as you did on your Federal Tax Return
• Select "Option 2" to request an IRS Tax Return Transcript, and then "2011"
• The transcript should be received in 5-10 business days at the address used on your 2011 Federal Tax Return
• Online by going to www.irs.gov
• Click "Order a Tax Return or Account Transcript" located under "Tools"
• Click "Order a Transcript" under Step 3
• Enter your SSN, Date of Birth, Street Address and Zip Code as they were entered on your Federal Tax Return
• Click Continue
• Select Return Transcript for Tax Year (2011)
• Click Continue
• The transcript should be received in 5-10 business days at the address used on your 2011 Federal Tax Return
• Paper form request using IRS form 4506T-EZ
• Form can be downloaded at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506tez.pdf
• Paper form request can take up to 30 days to process and is NOT the recommended route for speedy processing
