Required Documents

• Items that we are required to verify include:
• Household size
• Number of students in college
• Receipt of food stamps benefits (SNAP)
• Child support paid
• Tax information (for tax filers) including:
• Adjusted gross income (AGI)
• Income tax paid
• Untaxed IRA distributions
• Untaxed pensions
• Education credits
• IRA deductions
• Tax-exempt interest
• For those who do not file taxes
• Income earned from work

• To verify these items, we request the following documents:
• Dependent Students
• Dependent Verification Worksheet
• Copies of Student (if filed) and Parent (if filed) tax transcripts
  Note: Tax transcripts are not required if you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool by logging on the FAFSA.
• Copies of all W-2’s for both the student and parents
• Additional documentation may be requested if clarification is needed

• Independent Students
• Independent Verification Worksheet
• Copies of Student (if filed) and Spouse (if applicable/filed) tax transcripts
