Goals of the First Year Experience Peer Mentor Program
• To strengthen the student’s connection to the UW-Parkside community
• To aid first year students with their transition from high school to UW-Parkside
• To inform students of the academic and social expectations of UW-Parkside
• To encourage students to become engaged in their academic work
• To aid in the student’s decision making process that will lead them to declaring a major and assist students in clarifying their career goals
• To encourage students to take part in co-curricular activities
• To increase the number of first year students that proceed into second year
• To assist first year students in achieving academic and personal success at UW-Parkside.
