Please bring your login ID and password, pencil or pen and paper.

Are parents required to attend Ranger Days?
No, parents are not required to attend Ranger Days, but are encouraged to attend. Parents and guests will have their own agenda for the day and participate in separate sessions than the students.

When do I register for classes?
You will register for classes at Ranger Days. You will meet with an academic advsior at this time to discuss their fall schedule.

What else happens during the day?
There will be special sessions where you will talk with current students, faculty and staff about academic and social aspects of the campus. You will also get your student I.D. picture taken. Lunch is provided.

I've already been on a tour of campus; do I have to do it again?
No! We understand that most of our entering students have toured the campus already. At the end of the day there is an option to go on a tour of the general campus or we will tailor a tour to the residence halls.

Does it matter which session I attend?
Earlier is always better. As the summer progresses and more new students register, the class selection does become limited. You will get classes that you need, but you may not get your first choices!

What if I can't attend a session?
All new students are expected to attend a Ranger Day session. If you choose not to attend you will need to make alternate arrangements with the Advising and Career Center. Please note that you will not be able to register until AFTER the completion of all of the regularly scheduled Ranger Days sessions. This means that class availability will not be as favorable as if you attend a session. Since Ranger Days is mandatory, the fee is still assessed. There are no refunds.

What if I'm transferring from another school?
That's great, we're glad you selected UW-Parkside! If you are tranfering with fewer than 24 credits, you are still required to attend a Ranger Day session. Even though you've already experienced college, there are helpful things to know about UW-PARKSIDE and we want your transition here to be a smooth one.

What happens if I attend a Ranger Days session but withdraw from UW-Parkside before the start of the term?
If you attend a session, you will still be financially responsible for the cost of the program.

What if I was in the Youth Options Program?
We're excited that you'll be continuing your education at UW-Parkside!
Since you were still in high school while you participated in the Youth Options Program and haven't accumulated more than 11 credits, you will still be considered an entering freshmen. Orientation will be an added benefit to you because you will learn even more about UW-Parkside and the focus will be on you as a college student.
