COVERAGE, DELEGATION, and DEFINITION 1.01 COVERAGE. Pursuant to UWS 9.01 these Personnel Policies and Procedures apply to all academic staff appointments at UW-Parkside. 1.02 DELEGATION. Pursuant to Chapter 36.09(4m) of the Wisconsin Statutes, UW-Parkside establishes the Academic Staff Committee to have the primary responsibility for the formulation and review of academic staff personnel policies and procedures and to select academic staff representatives to participate in institutional governance. 1.03 DEFINITION. 1. Academic staff members are professional and administrative personnel, other than faculty, with duties and appointments associated with higher education institutions. Academic staff personnel policies and procedures do not apply to the following:
2. Teaching academic staff include those holding titles defined in UWS Unclassified Personnel Guideline No. 1 under the heading "Instructional Academic Staff" (Section III, B). (For example, Lecturers) 3. Non-teaching academic staff include those holding titles defined in UWS Unclassified Personnel Guideline No. 1 under the headings "General Professional Academic Staff) (Section III, A) (For example, Advisors and "Academic Support Professional Staff) (Section III, C). (For example, Coaches) 4. Members of the academic staff with both teaching and non-teaching responsibilities may be assigned a title indicating the dual nature of their responsibilities (e.g., lecture/laboratory manager). 5. Limited appointees who are granted concurrent academic staff appointments are entitled to participate fully in academic staff governance at UW-Parkside.
