COMMITTEE STRUCTURE OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF

2.01 ACADEMIC STAFF COMMITTEE. The Academic Staff Committee shall have primary responsibility for Academic Staff personnel policies and procedures and shall select academic staff representatives to participate in institutional governance. The Academic Staff Committee shall consist of nine elected members all of whom shall be at least 50% time academic staff employees at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside as defined in UWPA 1.03. At lease one of the nine members of the Academic Staff Committee must be a member of the instructional academic staff. If necessary, the Academic Staff Committee will appoint members to the Academic Staff Committee. All members of the committee are voting members and are elected for 3 year terms. Other provisions of this committee shall be defined in the Academic Staff Committee By-Laws.

2.02 ACADEMIC STAFF TITLE REVIEW COMMITTEE. The Academic Staff Title Review Committee shall review all open academic staff positions for title changes under UWPA 12, and candidates for indefinite appointments under UWPA 6. The Title Review Committee shall consist of five academic staff members elected for 3 year terms by the academic staff and employed at least 50% time by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Director of Human Resources, or his/her designee, will also serve as a non-voting, ex officio member. In no case shall an academic staff member serve on the Academic Staff Committee and the Academic Staff Title Review Committee concurrently.

2.03 ACADEMIC STAFF POLICY AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE. Except as provided in section UWPA 2.02, the Academic Staff Policy and Personnel Committee shall monitor and respond to academic staff personnel and policy matters. The Academic Staff Policy and Personnel Committee shall consist of six members employed at least 50% time by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Vice Chairperson of the Academic Staff Committee, or his/her designee, will chair the Policy and Personnel Committee. The Director of Human Resources will serve as a non-voting, ex officio member. Of the remaining four members, 2 shall be elected and 2 appointed by the Academic Staff Committee. Other provisions of this committee shall be defined in the Academic Staff Policy and Personnel Committee By-Laws. All members of this committee are voting members, with the exception of the Human Resource Director. The members of this committee will also serve as members of the Institutional Ethics Committee for the purpose of implementing Regent Policy (UWS 8) concerning a Code of Ethics for Unclassified Staff (see UWPA 11). Members serve 2 year terms.

2.04 OTHER COMMITTEES. The Academic Staff Committee may establish additional committees and dissolve existing committees as it determines necessary.
