Classified Staff Distinguished Service Award


ELIGIBILITY

A University of Wisconsin-Parkside permanent classified staff member, with a minimum of five (5) years of permanent UW-Parkside employment may be nominated. Any member of the UW-Parkside community (students, staff and faculty) may nominate a classified staff member for the award. Letters of nomination and support will become public documents. Previous winners of this award are ineligible for five years.

CRITERIA

A Nominee should be one who:

  1. Shows exceptional performance (good attitude, courtesy, pleasantness efficiency, accuracy, dependability, high quality of work)
  2. Exceeds work responsibilities (quantity of work, such as taking on new and/or unassigned responsibilities or covering a temporarily vacant position; quality of work; exceptionally difficult and/or high stress work)
  3. Engages in activities that enhance the individual's work site, department, the university in general and/or the community(helping with special campus events, working beyond scheduled hours to complete a task, volunteer work)

PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATING

  1. Nominations may be made by any member of the campus community so the announcement letter and nomination forms will be sent to all Parkside faculty, staff and students around March 1.
  2. After closing of nominations, the committee will distribute a list of nominees to the campus community inviting additional support for any of the nominees.
  3. The Classified Staff Committee will make the selections and forward to Chancellor.
  4. The recipients will be honored at the Fall convocation.

Deadline for 2012 submissions is March 30th.
