Report on Activities for the 2002-2003 Academic Year

The Awards and Ceremonies Committee was very active this year awarding and approving scholarships and honors for UW-Parkside students.

Scholarships
UW-Parkside awarded a 184 scholarships totaling $181,273 for the 2003-2004 academic year. The dollar amount represents a 8% decrease from 2002-2003. A number of significant contributors did not fund scholarships this year. Over $30,000 of funding was not renewed this year. This was partially offset by a number of new contributors. Since some of the scholarships are quite small, a number of students received multiple awards.

The awards are broken down as follows:

36 entering students received scholarships.
113 continuing students received new awards and 18 continuing students had scholarships renewed.
There are 17 scholarships still awaiting acceptance.
