Minutes of the Academic Policies Committee
for April 23, 2010

Present: Lori Allen, Linda Crafton (Chair), Linda Draft, Traci Lee, Jim Robinson, Kim Kelley (guest). 

• Minutes from April 9 were approved. 

• Discussion of the upcoming mini-conference.

Linda mentioned that Theresa Castor could not attend the meeting but had asked that the committee discuss documentation of the mini-conference, specifically that a CoTL member take notes of each discussion for future evaluation and sharing purposes.  Theresa noted that these documents would be useful as the campus begins our re-accreditation process. Updates were provided on the plans for campus guest presentation by Regan Gurung scheduled for April 16.  The committee agreed that this should be done and individuals indicated they would be willing to document sessions. 

• Kim Kelley, Director of Assessment, facilitated a conversation regarding course evaluations on campus.  The committee discussed the history of CoTL activities related to reforming course evaluations and underscored the importance of this work and a general interest in continuing it in the future.
