Minutes of the Academic Policies Committee
for February 5, 1999

The February 5, 1999 meeting of the Academic Policies Committee was called to order at 2:04 P.M. by E. Zepp, Chair. Also attending were W. Feldt, M. Gurtman, S. Johnson, W. Moy, D. Olsen, M. Power.

1) The minutes of the meeting of January 29, 1999 were approved as distributed.

2) Old business:

a) The International Baccalaureate equivalencies was again discussed. The Committee voted to ask the Vice Chancellor to ask departments to review their equivalencies. The committee chair will also raise the issue at the Dean-Chairs Arts and Sciences meeting on Monday.

b) After considerable discussion, a revised version of the Forgiveness Policy was approved to be sent back to the Senate. Additional wording to be added was also approved:

All credits up to a maximum of 60 will be subject to the policy. If there are over 60 cr., the first 60 will be subject to the policy. The student may not choose from among eligible credits.
