The meeting of the Admissions
and Student Records Committee began at 2 p.m. on November 28th. The agenda of
the day was approval of the Senate report for the year 2000-2001 which will
be forwarded to the University Committee along with the Statement of Practice
for International Student Admissions and Remissions. New business consisted
of approval of the Revised Admission Appeal process: moved by Fred Mondardi,
seconded by Matt Jensen, and approved unanimously. The appeals committee plans
to
meet in early December. The chair pointed out the difficulty in garnering faculty
representatives, but would make an appeal to the University Committee again,
to help us fill these positions.
Note: There will be no meeting in January of next year: the first meeting will be scheduled for early February.
Meeting adjourned at 2:45.
