The controller and coaches will know what they have to work with up front at the beginning of each year. The Board discussed this proposal.

• Men's and Women's basketball are having good wins and tough losses. Wrestling had four champions at the UW-Parkside opener. Indoor track begins in January. Baseball and Softball start practice in early February.

Chair Walasek adjourned the meeting.

Addendum to Athletic Board Minutes of 12/12/02:

RE: New policy on retaining athletic financial aid mid-academic year.

Note: This policy's intent was to have individuals who were awarded a spring semester athletic scholarship prior to the second week of the fall semester*, to retain that award despite becoming academically ineligible for practice and competition in the spring semester as a result of fall semester grades.

Individuals whose award is increased during the fall semester to include spring semester, may not receive that award unless they are academically eligible at the beginning of the spring semester. In addition, individuals who were not on scholarship and then are added for spring semester may not receive that award unless they are academically eligible at the beginning of the spring semester.

*Deadline by which the athletic department must finalize all awards with financial aid and the cashier's office.
