Minutes of the Athletic Board Meeting
for February 24, 2004

 Present: Rich Walasek, Bob Canary, Jim Crowley, Dave Williams, Doug Devinny, Bill Murin. Absent: Mary Power, Samantha Kromm – SAAC, Will Traber – PSGA rep

•  Chair Walasek called the meeting to order and asked if there was any new business.

•  The board discussed dates for the next meeting. The meeting will be Monday, March 22, 2004 , at 12:00pm in CART 233, conference room.

•  Linda Draft joined the board asking them for a determination on penalties in regard to Michelle Bolden and Christine Tagliaferri:

1. Is restitution going to be made?
2. Student athlete or institution responsible?
3. Who should be the recipient?

•  Discussion ensued. The board agreed to handle each case on an individual basis. The institution would be responsible for restitution. A donation would be made to a charity in the Kenosha/Racine area on an alternating basis.

•  The board agreed Dave Williams will talk to Michelle Bolden and then discuss with Chair Walasek for a determination if Michelle will sit out the first three meets of the outdoor season or the first three meets after spring break.

•  Chair Walasek moved the meeting go into closed session. Bill Murin seconded the motion. All were in favor. The meeting went into closed session per Wis.Stat. 19.85(1)(c).

•  Chair Walasek moved the meeting go out of closed session. Jim Crowley seconded the motion. The meeting went out of closed session.

•  Meeting was adjourned.
