The meeting was called to order at 8:06 a.m. by Takata.

Minutes of April 20, 2009 were approved.

Miscellaneous Announcements/Updates 

•  Takata will draft CAP’s contribution to UC’s report to the Chancellor, (it will  be the same as CAP’s end of the year report. Takata will try to get something circulated before our next meeting)

• Takata mentioned the email received from John Skalback re: the ENVS major proposal.

• Mission Statement from the Strategic Planning Initiative

• Online Course Policy – Barber reported an update from CCC. 

             

Draft Academic Plan and Department/Program Responses 

• The committee discussed the various new programs, (i.e., graduate , undergraduate majors, minors, concentrations, certificates) in the department responses received. Common threads were noted.

• Barber presented a more streamlined version of the draft academic plan. (He will send an electronic version to CAP members). Review and provide feedback.

• An introduction and conclusion were suggested to add to the draft academic plan. Gee will work on these two items. 

• An updated draft of the academic plan will be circulated to the committee members prior to our next meeting.                                                                                                                                                         

Next Meeting – May 4th 

•   Wrap up the  academic plan draft and department/ program responses to our academic plan related questions.

• Review draft report of CAP activities for 2008-09

• Any other business
